Usrah Class Week 1

Image
Week 1 Usrah class takes place twice a week and I intend to draw my reflections and thoughts every week inshallah. May Allah make it easy. Come along this journey as I share with you what I learnt from Usrah Class.  Monday Class Monday was the first class of the course and our facilitator went over the course outline and task assessment for the course. It seemed simple enough, but of course, the hard part is in execution and time management. I think the key to getting good grades in this course is to just start and not procrastinate, although that is something I've struggled with for my whole life. May Allah grant both you and I tawfiq and steadfastness. Aside from that, we had a fun icebreaker session where each person introduced themselves and a small fun fact about themselves. The facilitator was very amused with my fun fact because I told her I sometimes sleep in exams! Nevertheless, I left the class feeling excited for the coming classes. Wednesday Class Before the class start...

A Little About Me

Like a wild flower in a foreign land, sometimes I feel like I don’t belong here, or anywhere for that matter. Asslaam Alykum Warahamtullahi Wabarakatuhu my dear readers, I am Aisha Adesina, a first year student in the Bachelor of Islamic Finance program. On the 28th of October 2023, I moved to Malaysia from Saudi Arabia to study in IIUM. Previously, I lived in Saudi for 17 years and although I’m from Nigeria, I’ve only been there twice. One of my fears of coming to Malaysia was that I’d find it hard to settle in. However, the more I spent time here, interacting with my professors and fellow students, the more I felt at home. And like a wild flower, I felt like I was blossoming and blooming in the garden of knowledge and virtue. Join me on my journey of Usrah 1 Classes. This is a blog where I recount the weekly classes of this course.
